2
Tutorial Outline Parameters and algorithm of CPM A sample about AON
3
Parameters of CPM EST(I) = early start time of activity I EFT(I) = early finish time of activity I LST(I) = late start time of activity I EST(I) = late finish time of activity I
4
Algorithm of CPM Forward-pass algorithm EFT(I) = EST(I) + DUR(I) (1) (2)
5
Algorithm of CPM Backward-pass algorithm LST(J) = LFT(J) - DUR(J) (1) (2)
6
Example about AON
7
Float Float: The amount by which an activity can be delayed without delaying the total project is called float. Four types of float Total Float Free Float Interfering Float Independent Float
8
Total float The total, or maximum, number of time units that an activity can be delayed without increasing the total project duration. TF(I) = LFT(I) – EFT(I)
9
Free float Free Float The amount of time an activity can be delayed without impacting activities that follow it.
10
Interfering Float The amount of the total float utilized that interferes with the following activities. IF(I) = TF(I) – FF(I)
