Background The American Recovery Act of 2009 created the Homelessness Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing Program (HPRP) The Act provides $1.5 billion for grants to help persons who have recently become homeless or at risk of becoming homeless Funding allocated for Orange County is $2,523,982.00 Homelessness Prevention and Rapid Re-housing Program

5. Background HPRP requires an amendment to Orange County’s 2008-09 Action Plan for federal programs Focus of HPRP is housing stabilization by providing temporary financial assistance and services to eligible households HPRP is not a mortgage assistance program
