Average Energy Consumption

Ways to Save Electrical Energy Turn off lights and household appliances when they are not being used Use appliances with the energy label type A (they are more efficient and consume less energy) Use low-energy light bulbs Use appropriate washing programs for the washing machine and dishwasher. Only use these machines when they are full. Don’t overuse heating and cooling systems when the temperature is low in the winter or high in the summer Use the main electricity supply, instead of batteries, whenever possible because it is a more efficient way to consume electricity Insulate your home properly- this can cut your heating bills by 20- 30% Always switch off electronic equipment instead of leaving it in stand-by mode

Shocking Statistics More than 30,000 non-fatal shock accidents occur each year. Each day, nearly 7 children are treated in hospital emergency rooms for electrical shock or burn injuries caused by tampering with a wall outlet Each year, there is an estimated average of 60 electrocutions associated with consumer products. The three most common product categories associated with electrocutions are small appliance, power tool, and lighting equipment. On average, there are over 400 electrocutions in the United States each year.
