WHAT IS RECYCLING? Recycling is a process using materials (waste) into new products to prevent waste of potentially useful materials, reduce the consumption of fresh raw materials, reduce energy usage, reduce air pollution (from incineration) and water pollution (from landfilling) by reducing the need for "conventional" waste disposal, and lower greenhouse gas emissions as compared to plastic production. Recycling is a key component of modern waste reduction and is the third component of the "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle" waste hierarchy. materialswasteenergyincineration landfillinggreenhouse gasReduceReuse waste hierarchymaterialswasteenergyincineration landfillinggreenhouse gasReduceReuse waste hierarchy

SO... A PROCESS THAT HELPS US SAVE ENERGY AND NATURAL REOURCES RECYCLING IS
4
Nowadays pollution is increasing, but the negative impact of the industrialization could be reduced if we all adopt some behaviors which are the basis of recycling.
5
5 REASONS WHY RECYCLING IS NECESSARY: 1. It saves energy!
6
2.By recycling we keep the air and water clean and reduce the amount of waste sent to landfills.
7
3. Recycling conserves natural resources as the waste are used as resource in different production processes.
8
4. Recycling reduces greenhouse gas emissions
9
5. Recycling saves money and helps create new jobs.

WHAT IS GLASS MADE OF? Glass is an amorphous (non-crystalline) solid material. Glasses are typically brittle and optically transparent.amorphouscrystallinebrittletransparent The most familiar type of glass, used for centuries in windows and drinking vessels, is soda-lime glass, composed of about 75% silica (SiO 2 ) plus sodium oxide (Na 2 O) from soda ash, lime (CaO), and several minor additives.windowsdrinking vessels soda-lime glass silicasodium oxidelime

Glass recycle Glass recycling is the process of turning waste glass into usable products. Glass waste should be separated by chemical composition, and then, depending on the end use and local processing capabilities, might also have to be separated into different colors. The most common types used for consumer containers are: wasteglass colorless glass green glass brown/amber glass.
13
SHOULD WE RECYCLE GLASS? WHY Up to 90% of the new glass can be made of reused glass which would save energy and natural resources. Glass is infinitely recyclable without losing its qualities.
14
Glass recycling uses less energy than manufacturing glass from sand, lime and soda. It reduces the costs regarding the household wastes. 8% of the household waste can be reused by glass recycling. Every ton of waste glass recycled saves 1.2 tons of natural resources and thus it helps protecting the environment.

Glass Recycling is Good for the Environment A glass bottle that is sent to a landfill can take up to a million years to break down. By contrast, it takes as little as 30 days for a recycled glass bottle to leave your kitchen recycling bin and appear on a store shelf as a new glass container. Glass Recycling is Simple It’s simple, because glass is one of the easiest materials to recycle. For one thing, glass is accepted by almost all curbside recycling programs and municipal recycling centers. About all most people have to do to recycle glass bottles and jars is to carry their recycling bin to the curb, or maybe drop off their empty glass containers at a nearby collection point.
16
The energy saved from recycling one glass bottle will operate a 100-watt light bulb for four hours. Every month, we throw out enough glass bottles and jars to fill up a giant skyscraper. Recycling one ton of glass saves the equivalent of 10 gallons of oil. Glass can be recycled an infinite number of times. A modern glass bottle would take 4000 years or more to decompose – and even longer if it’s in the landfill.
