Environmental Problems
The incineration and burning of forest plants to clear land releases large amounts of CO2, which contributes to global warming. Recent calculations suggest that carbon dioxide emissions from deforestation and forest degradation contribute about 12% of total anthropogenic carbon dioxide emissions with a range from 6 to 17%. Scientists state that, Tropical deforestation releases 1.5 billion tons of carbon each year into the atmosphere.
4
Hydrological Problems
Trees no longer evaporate away this water, resulting in a much drier climate. Deforestation reduces the content of water in the soil and groundwater as well as atmospheric moisture. The presence or absence of trees can change the quantity of water on the surface, in the soil or groundwater, or in the atmosphere. Tropical rainforests produce about 30% of our planet's fresh water.
5
Reduced Biodiversity About 80% of the world's known biodiversity could be found in tropical rainforests. Removal or destruction of significant areas of forest cover has resulted in a degraded environment with reduced biodiversity. It has been estimated that we are losing 137 plant, animal and insect species every single day due to rainforest deforestation, which equates to 50,000 species a year.

Deforestation organizations
The Center for a New American Dream Website: Goals: To organize enough individuals, organizations, government agencies, and companies to secure significant positive changes in the way goods are produced and consumed. Champion Tree Project Website: Goals: To be the leader in environmental sustainability by protecting, propagating and planting a living legacy of our champion trees. Earth Repair Foundation Website: Goals: To have the Earth Repair Charter adapted & implemented worldwide by world leaders, governments & people ,as a global solution strategy.

Solutions to Deforestation
Reforestation Forest Plantations Wildlife Sanctuaries
9
Reforestation Improves the quality of human life by soaking up pollution and dust from the air, rebuild natural habitats and ecosystems. The amount of woodland has increased in 22 of the world's 50 most forested nations. Most reforestation involves the planting of different feedlots of seedlings taken from the area often of multiple species.
10
Forest Plantations Designed to meet the world’s demand for wood.
Can be managed in ways to enhance biodiversity protection functions. Important providers of ecosystem services such as maintaining nutrient capital.
11
Wildlife Sanctuaries Provides protection for species from hunting, predation or competition. They provide habitat for wildlife (endangered species) and also cultural enrichment for patrons educational opportunities, recreation, and preserve open space for future generations. Trees would be able to provide animals like birds with water and abundance of food resources.
