C ALCULATING M L/ HR FROM DOSAGE PER KG
2
1 ST STEP First, calculate dose per minute. 3 mcg/kg/min x 95.9 kg = 287.7 mcg/min
3
2 ND STEP Convert mcg/min > mcg/hr. 287.7 mc./min x 60 min = 17, 262 mcg/hr Convert to mg: move decimal 3 places to left 17.3 mg/hr
4
3 RD STEP Calculate the flow rate. 400 mg = 17.3 mg 250 mL X mL 400 x = 4325 10.8 = 11 mL/hr

RETRO M ETHOD : S TEP 1 FORMULA: Dose x Wt(kg) x Time (60 min in hr) Concentration(drug amt in mcg/volume) 3 mcg/min x 95.9 kg x 60 400 mg/250 mL = 1600 mcg/mL = 10.78 = ll mL/hr FORMULA: Dose x Wt(kg) x Time (60 min in hr) Concentration(drug amt in mcg/volume) 3 mcg/min x 95.9 kg x 60 400 mg/250 mL = 1600 mcg/mL = 10.78 = ll mL/hr
