The name orangutan means "man of the forest" in the Malay language. The Scientific Name is Pongo abelii, Pongo pygmaeus

Orangutans live in a forest habitat near fresh water and they can be found in any of these places : Eastern Himalayas, Madagascar, Greater Mekong, Namibia, Congo Basin, Southern Chile, Borneo and Sumatra, Yangtze, Amazon, Amur-Heilong
