15 Company Mentors ▷Position Supervisor or managers identified by the firm ▷Role Identify the workload, tasks, and projects interns will be working on Perform mid and end evaluations of intern Schedule regular meetings with intern Provide regular feedback to college
16
16 Feedback Loop ▷Share mid and end evaluations of interns with college ▷Annual review of internship with college ▷Final presentation at conclusion of internship during which student demonstrates mastery of work
17
17 Key Messages ▷The internship will: Occur at the end of the Biotechnology Technician Certificate program Offer meaningful work related to their program of study Provide the intern with mentor support
18
18 Internship Q&A ▷How many interns could you take per semester? ▷Would they work in the area of Fermentation or Cell/Tissue Culture? ▷What will the duration of the internship be? ▷Are you able to pay interns?
19
19 Incumbent Worker Training ▷Which courses or course sections would be most helpful to your incumbent workers? ▷For which positions would these courses be most useful? ▷What challenges would you have in offering this program to your incumbent workers (e.g., cost, time, location, etc.)? ▷Do you have other important incumbent worker training needs that are not addressed in these courses?
20
20 Next Steps Identify your interest and capacity to take on interns Identify your incumbent worker training needs Sign-off on course curriculum Share the information from this meeting with your training/HR staff
