When, What and Why - Census of Agriculture? Every 5 years Complete count of U.S. farms & ranches & people who operate them Looks at land use & ownership, operator characteristics, production practices, income & expenditures and many other areas

What is a Farm? Any place where $1,000 of agricultural products were produced & sold, or normally would have been sold, during the census year. Government payments are included.
