5. The greenhouse effect is the rise in the Earth’s temperature because of certain gases in the atmosphere (water vapor, carbon dioxide, nitrous oxide, and methane). These gases trap energy from the sun on the Earth.

14. The ozone is like a blanket that protects all of the Earth. It is in the stratosphere and protects Earth from harmful UV rays

15. Humans have used too many chemicals that have created a hole in the ozone layer. As a result, the harmful UV rays can come in. Now more people are getting skin cancer and we have to use a lot of sunscreen to protect ourselves from the UV rays.
