3. What is the biosphere? TThe biosphere is all life on Earth

4. What is biodiversity?  Bio means: life  Diversity means: variety  Put the two together, and you get: Variety of Life or Biodiversity

5. Interdependence  Interdependence: Every species is linked, directly or indirectly, with others in an ecosystem.

6.  Plants provide food, shelter, and nesting sites for other organisms.  Many plants depend upon animals for help in reproduction (bees pollinate flowers, provide nutrients (such as minerals in animal waste products).

8.  Food Chain: sequence of what eats what in an ecosystem to obtain nutrition  Trophic Levels: The trophic level of an organism is the position it holds in a food chain.
