Trimester Dates 3 Trimesters Fall (8/07/14– 10/31/14) Winter (11/03/14 – 02/13/15) Spring (02/14/14 – 05/08/15) 3 Grading Periods Report cards at the end of each trimester, every 12 weeks. Midterm reports at the midpoint of each trimester, 6 weeks into each trimester.

PRIDE Period Intervention time for students to work on meeting the college ready benchmarks, or working towards their career readiness. Tutoring time for students who need additional help in specific courses. Elective time for those students who have already met their college ready benchmarks.

Graduation Requirements Meet graduation requirements. – Complete: 1 Math course per year – Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2 are required content 1 English course per year – English 9, 10, 11, 12, and/or AP, MSU, or Maysville 3 Science courses – Integrated, Biology, Chemistry 3 Social Studies courses – Survey, World Civ, US History, and/or AP 1 Humanities credit that touches 3 areas (Art, Dance, Drama, Music) or 3 credits of one area ½ credit in technology Earn 30.5 credits overall (required classes plus electives) Become College and/or Career Ready.

Parent Excuse: A student returning to school after an absence must present a written note or have had some form of parent communication (note, , parent walk-in, verifiable phone call/text) within five (5) days. Five (5) parent excuses for absence events will be allowed for each school year. Five (5) parent excuses will be allowed for tardies. Health Care Provider Excuse: A student who is absent due to a medical condition and goes to a health care provider shall within five (5) days present the health care provider’s excuse/statement. Up to eight (8) days per school year may be excused with a health care provider’s excuse. The following information will be requested on the excuse statement: Name of health care provider Date and time of appointment Reason for visit Date/s student is excused for Date student can return to school Should student be absent all day for this reason Attendance
