The DOL Has Proposed New White Collar Regulation-What Are Your Next Steps to Ensure Compliance? The APA suggests employers review exempt employees with annual base at $54,000 and below Current proposal is $970/week 2003 proposal was $420/week, the 2004 approval was $455/week States with their own regulations, PA is one of them, are expected to review and update after the federal regulations are approved, it’s predicted they may decide to exceed the federal regulations Annual updates were included in the proposal, APA suggests employers put something in place to have an annual review as an on- going process
The DOL Has Proposed New White Collar Regulation-What Are Your Next Steps to Ensure Compliance? The APA is certain a decision on the recent proposals will be made before the 2016 presidential election The 2004 approval took just under 50 weeks with 6 months between approval and effective date The recent proposed rules received more than 4,200 comments The APA did not submit comments, their concern is the administrative piece Petitions with more than 152,000 signatures were submitted, employers are not happy with the proposals
