WE ARE TO BE A SPIRITUALLY ALIVE CHURCH

In other words the world judges a church by EXTERNAL characteristics, but Jesus judges a church by its SPIRITUAL characteristics.

Friends, activity does not equal life!

1 Corinthians 13:1-3: “If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a

clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move

“mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.”

“ 2 Timothy 3:1-“But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud,

abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good,

treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God-- having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them.”

What is a spiritually alive church? It is a church where the people listen to and obey the Spirit.

Zechariah 4:6, “So he said to me, ‘This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the LORD Almighty.”

When in your life do you take the time to listen to the Spirit?

We can’t learn the will of God and the Word of God if we won’t listen.

The purpose of listening is that we will be made able to be OBEDIENT!

James 1:22-25-“Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.”

A spiritual church lives a HOLY SPIRIT ENERGIZED LIFE!
