TV series pitch Alone with her thoughts By Laura Totty

Tagline and Synopsis Most people enjoy being alone with their thoughts but for some people that just isn’t the case. Natasha is a quiet and fairly strange girl, the type to not really have many friends apart from her two “friends” Missy and Lauren who don’t really support or help Natasha with anything but they are always by her side through everything. Tash deals with many daily struggles in her life such as bullying and eating disorders but always looks to her dancing as an escape from her corrupted brain. The only reason is she doesn’t understand why people look at her and treat her differently to everyone else..?

Characters & Actors Natasha Adams – Chelsie Young Missy Jenkins – Rianna De Bono Lauren Tomkins – Sophie Davies Bully 1 – TBC Bully 2 – TBC

Setting I want my series to have a typical college setting for example I want a number of scenes to be filmed at lunchtime where we see Natasha sitting with her friends. My TV series will mainly be set within college in classrooms, female toilets and canteens. The only exception for the series to be filmed anywhere else is if the scene is set in Natasha’s bedroom which will be set in my own bedroom at home.

Budget Paper from a notepad for Cassie to throw at Natasha - £1.00 Coffee for Natasha to drink at lunch time – £2.00 As you can see not much budget will be needed as most of the props and costumes are provided for example I own ballet shoes for Natasha to wear whilst she dances.

Style and genre The genre of my TV series is a psychological drama which include themes such as eating disorders, bullying and people suffering with mental illness and what the side effects are.

Inspiration I took inspiration from the film ‘Black swan’ because that story is about a girl with psychological problems and she is also a dancer. I also took inspiration from the TV series moone boy which is about a small boy who is friends with gentleman that is constantly with him but doesn’t actually exist, the child just imagines him.

Directors statement As a director I am looking forward to creating this psychological drama as it will be challenging yet strongly rewarding to bring my creative image to life. My aims are to make the audience feel strong emotion towards my television series such as hurt and upset but also a bit of fear towards Natasha as a character. With my creative mind and strong knowledge in filming and cinematography I will be able to make this series visually stunning for my audience. - Laura Totty
