Vijay’s Observations: The shelter currently houses 17 boys. Well maintained shelter with a good atmosphere for children. All children either attend school or undergo vocational training. There is a full time caretaker and children seemed happy and in good health. A tutor comes in regularly to help the children with school work.
Vijay last visited Jamghat in December 2009 FACILITIES Since then, improvements have been made in bathroom and kitchen facilities CHILDREN Previously brought in from Jama Masjid area slums Since 2010, the Child Welfare Committee has licensed Jamghat to operate as a shelter They select children for shelter PARENTS of JAMGHAT CHILDREN Jamghat works to reach out to the parents of the children Encourages visits during holidays
