Creating the wheel by revolving Revolved Profile

Open the plane body Go to assembly Open new part in context

Use the workplane selector to show all the workplanes. Rotate the drawing using the arrows to look straight on to the body. Select the frontal workplane with a double click

Create a new sketch from the workplane menu.

Call the sketch wheel Make sure filled is click and it is on the frontal workplane.

Use Shift – Z to zoom in on the area where the wheel will go

Start by drawing a circle with the circle tool.

Zoom in and draw a line which does not link with the edge of the circle using the line tool.

Draw in another line

Draw in a horizontal line Make sure it doesn’t link with any other. Use the handles at each end to adjust it until it is straight. Do this by clicking to select it then holding on the handles at the end of the line

Use the delete line segment to trim the ends of the lines.

Use the delete line segment to remove the centre of the circle.

Use the delete line segment to trim the ends of the horizontal line.

Use shift – Z to zoom in on the end of the lines. Use the delete line segment to trim the ends of the lines.

The sketch should fill

Create a new sketch on the frontal workplane. Call it wheel axis and make sure filled is selected.

Draw a straight line using the line tool. Adjust it until straight by selecting the line with one click then holding the end handles to move it.

Use the dimension tool to select the new line. Click on it once the dimension tool is clicked

Click on the bottom line of the shape, press and hold the mouse button then drag to the side.

Double click on the dimension then change the distance to 1.5 mm in the dialogue box.

In the features menu select revolve profile.

In the box that appears make sure 360 degrees is entered in angle, the sketch to be used as the profile is wheel and the sketch to be used as axis is wheel axis. Make sure add material is selected. Click on o.k.

Save the new wheel to the plane folder
