At the Beginning... Introduce yourselves and your topic
DO: ●Prepare, practice ●Engage with your audience ●Be present (mentally and physically) ●Make additional comments, if relevant ●BE ON TIME
DO: ●Use bullets! ●They’re useful for info bytes ●Key info, names, dates etc.
ABSOLUTELY DO NOT ●Write out full-length paragraphs because they’re really long and people will stop reading them about a third of the way through and they’re bulky and look terrible on a presentation and they’re boring unless they have a punchline which is rare dorsal fin hockey puck monkey monkey underpants
Do: Make Eye Contact
DON’T: ●STRICTLY READ OFF OF YOUR SLIDES ●Look down at a script ●Have a script ●Stare into space when it’s not your turn ●Be unsure of what you’re talking about
Do Use images They provide visual interest as well as visual information
DON’T: Go overboard. This ain’t cute. And this is too hard to read.
Don’t Make presentations so long that you have to speed through slides Make presentations so short you average 1 slide per 6 minutes
