PROPS RESEARCH Hannah baffa

What? There are two types of props:  Locational props  Character props These are both used to let the audience know more about the character or hint at an event. In thrillers the props that are commonly found are weapons such as guns, and knifes etc… As they represent violent what is common theme found in thrillers. Without props the movie can look boring or uninteresting because the characters would just be talking. Which does not appeal to the audience. For example in stars wars if the fight scene didn’t have light savers than it would be like any other fight scene which doesn’t interest the audience as much.

Locational props Locational props are the props that are around the character for example if they where in an alleyway and there where bin and rubbish around that would be locational props as it sets the scene and creates an unsafe atmosphere. Props like these are commonly found in thrillers as make the audience feel uneasy and wondering what is going to happen next.

Character props Character props are what the character is holding that represents something or an event that has or is about to happen. In thriller character props are usually:  Knifes  Gun  Crowbar These let the audience know what type of person they are for example if you saw a guy with a gun the audience are automatically going to think murdered or thug what also makes them wonder what they are going to do with the gun. What engages the audience and makes them want to watch it more.
