Querer  QUERER means to want  It is an –ER verb  The stem is: “quer”  It is irregular  Querer is known as a “boot” verb because the “e” changes to an “ie” inside of the boot.

Querer = to want Yo quiero I want Tú quieres You want Él/ella quiere he/she wants Nosotros queremos We want Vosotros queréis You all want Ellos quieren They/you want

Usos  You use querer to say what you want or what you want to do.  Yo quiero la pizza.  I want pizza.  Yo quiero jugar el béisbol.  I want to play baseball.

IMPORTANT!  Gustar and Querer are used with infinitive forms of other verbs!  Ie. Queremos ir a la playa  We want to go to the beach  Me gusta hablar por telefono.  I like to talk on the phone
