Adaptations of a Painted Turtle ( also known as Chrysemys picta ) By: Erin Williams Learn about me!

Ponds freeze and the turtle can be trapped underneath at the bottom of the water at 3 oC for the whole winter! Its almost winter!

While hibernating, the Painted turtle has no access to oxygen but can still manage to survive.

The painted turtle’s shell helps protect the turtle itself

This type of turtle does not swim as often others there for it has 4 claw feet to climb and grab on to the ground

They also can see really good!

The painted turtle has a colorful shell that helps it blend in with plants and some colorful flowers Colorful!

They can suck there heads into its shell to protect itself Finally I’m protected!
