What do People in This Career do? People in this career are involved in everything that’s happening, good or bad, in their community as well as the world. They then pick what to produce on television so that people can gain more information. News Producers also decide which reporters and television news people will be presenting what news and stories on television.

Education and Training Requirements You need a University degree You need a diploma in broadcast journalism or a television news diploma

Responsibilities at Work Organizing or executing coverage for breaking news, as well as being responsible for the assignment desk. They also decide on what stories to focus on and prepare for.

Skills Needed to do The Job Good grammar and spelling Good computer skills Good people skills (interviewing people) Confidence Curiosity and interest Be a Team player

Hours of Work The hours of the news producer I interviewed were 9:00am-6:00pm Mon-Fri. This is also with most news producers. Working overtime or coming in on days off or weekends is also common.

Work Independently or Part of a Team??? TEAM

Salary (non-union positions) 80, ,00 per year. Plus benefits, ex. (dental insurance, eye classes.) There are also bonus's.
