Tips for Coordinators 1.Be Seen – Internally 2.Use Your Two – Work with the VPs 3.Rely on Existing Committees – Reserve the president’s political capital and increase buy-in. 4.Be a Good Liaison – Know the commitments, organizations, and resources. 5.Think High, Work Low – You’re not the president. Be a good go-between. 6.Hit the Road – Spend time away from the office together if you can.

Tips for Presidents 1.Weekly Meetings – Gives coordinator stature, keeps president informed. 2.Mobilize the Student Body – Use coordinator to engage students in campus and policy work. 3.Get Frequent Updates on Reporting Initiatives – Keep you informed for work with other presidents. 4.Emphasize Professional Development – Especially important in a diverse, changing field. 5.Connect Coordinator to CFO and Facilities – These are critical partnerships. All should sit on budget committees. 6.Feature at Board Meetings – Highlight the work of the coordinator on behalf of the college. 7.Emphasize Community Projects – Campus initiatives provide community opportunities.
