How are GA habitats different from other habitats? Engage How are GA habitats different from other habitats?

Essential Question What features and adaptations do plants and animals have that allow them to survive within each region of Georgia? S3L1. Students will investigate the habitats of different organisms and the dependence of organisms on their habitat. a. Differentiate between habitats of Georgia (mountains, marsh/swamp, coast, Piedmont, Atlantic Ocean) and the organisms that live there. b. Identify features of green plants that allow them to live and thrive in different regions of Georgia. c. Identify features of animals that allow them to live and thrive in different regions of Georgia.

Explore Bin Activities Teacher Group

Explain Share your bin activities. Describe what you discovered about animals and plants within Georgia and specific features and adaptations that allow them to survive there.

Elaborate What types of behavioral adaptations do we see within certain regions? How do changes in environment impact plants and animals in these regions? What will they have to do to survive? Describe adaptations they may have to undergo in order to survive a changing environment.
