Improving the Drop Shipment Process Update MTAC Workgroup #87 Washington DC – August 18

FAST 2 National Deployment FAST deployment began the week of July 4 th.

FAST 3 Deployment Status Number of active facilities: 128 Number of appointments: 9,004 Number of recurring appointments: 260 Registered PostalOne! schedulers: 913

FAST 4 National Deployment National Deployment Experiences  Web Service Message Response Backup - Fixed  Volume Constraints –Continue to work with facilities to create the right mix of slot availability and volume capacity –Review completed for Northeast and New York Metro Areas  Customer issues list is being maintained to track common questions

FAST 5 Help Desk Status Technical Questions and Problems  FAST Help Desk USPS-HELP PostalOne! will be implementing a new set of voice prompts for its Memphis Help Desk. 24/7 support is being rolled out in the near future

FAST 6 Training Status 244 Customers have attended FAST Training Additional Classes are planned in  Hartford, CT: August 29  Springfield, MA: August 30  Harrisburg, PA: September 12  Lehigh Valley, PA: September 21  Philadelphia, PA: September 22 and 23 Registration form available on RIBBS

FAST 7 Web Services Testing Web Services allows Schedulers to develop automated appointment scheduling systems within their own organization. Web Services is the technology that will allow integration of the mailer and USPS system. USPS FAST and PostalOne! are providing support for those schedulers that will be developing and implementing Web Services to schedule appointments.  Scheduler Web Services Testing is a 2-phased testing effort, that allows companies to verify that they are ready to submit appointments in the FAST Production environment using Web Services.  During Phase 1, companies test that they can successfully connect to PostalOne! using Web Services. During Phase 2, companies verify that test appointments submitted using Web Services, are processed by FAST. Forms to register for Web Services Testing are located on the table in the back of the room.

FAST 9 Surface Visibility Surface Visibility deployment has begun Mailers may begin bar coding their pallets  The mailer pallet barcode specification is located on the RIBBs website Phase 1 of SV is scheduled for completion in mid-November

FAST 10 Next Steps FAST deployment continues through mid- November Additional functionality in October release:  Incorporate mail diversion/annex information into FAST  Area/District listing  Pre-logon ability to view appointment status  Streamline entry of appointment information
