CAD Starting and Hints

Starting 1.Load the Program to your student account 2.In your student account create a folder named CAD. This is the folder in which the CAD program and all of your assignments are to be stored in 3.Go to and proceed to download the FREE version of the program into the CAD folder in your student accountwww.CADSTD.com 4.Every time your log onto your computer you will have to install the program as the computers in the school have deep freeze and the program will be deleted when the power is turned off.

Starting Cont’d 1.When you first start up the program, a start-up wizard will appear. Select BLANK DRAWING THEN FINISH 2.Across the top of the palate, you have your pull down menus, and on the side you have drawing options. 3.Practice drawing simple lines. To start drawing a line, left click, to compete the line right click. Try and connect lines together. Try some of the other drawing options. 4.On the top of the palate, you can select the type of line you can draw. Try changing that. Continue practicing drawing commands. 5.Try turning your Grid on and off. What do you think the grid does? 6.Notice at the bottom of the palate, the X and Y axis indicators. What are the numbers telling you?

Hints Left-clicking starts the last command you asked for. Right clicking ends the current command There are icons on the right for quick access The undo button at the top is very useful The select button works well for choosing lines or figures to edit. Try avoid the scroll on your mouse, it zooms in and out really fast.
