2012 Upland Game Proposals Sage-grouse Permits Junior Quail Season on Mojave National Preserve Turkey Fall Season Pheasant Archery-Only Season

2012 Sage-Grouse Hunting Permit Decision Rules 1.Ranges are initially established from 0-50 (2- bird) permits for both Lassen Zones and (1-bird) permits for both Mono Zones 2.Allowable harvest = 5% projected fall population, based on Spring lek counts (conducted March – May). 3.The maximum number of permits recommended will not exceed the number of permits issued in 2009 (no increases since ESA decision). 4.If allowable harvest results in 5 permits or less, no permits will be recommended for that zone.

Wild Turkey Fall Season Increase fall season length from 16 to 30 days and season limit from 1 to 2 birds either-sex Alternative to increase season length and maintain current limit of 1-bird either-sex

Pheasant 30-Day Archery-Only Season Alternatives Increase current archery season length by 14-days = 30 day archery-only season following 44 day general season Decrease current general season by 15 days = 30 day archery-only season following 30 day general season
