DIGRAPH UE  Digraph ue makes the long (u) sound as in the word statue.  Digraph ue is regular for spelling in the FINAL position of words.  Examples: blue, value, argue

DIGRAPH EW  Digraph ew also makes the long (u) sound as in the word blew.  Digraph ew is actually IRREGULAR for spelling, but many words are spelled using this form. It may be found in the MEDIAL or FINAL position of words.  Examples: outgrew, mildew, nephew

Homographs Are words which have the SAME spelling (graph)… but DIFFERENT meanings…and they MAY have different pronunciations. The trees fell in the strong wind. Did you wind the old clock?
