Inform the Elections office if your relative will be a candidate during an election in which you are scheduled to serve as an official or if you are related to another official in the precinct. Attend mandatory instructional meetings and training workshops specific to your duties as assigned by the Board of Elections. Read your Training Manual! Verify details regarding precinct set-up and Election Day with the Chief Judge. Before each Primary or Election

3 Election Eve Assist the Chief Judge in setting-up the polling place at the time set by the Chief Judge and BOE using the diagrams provided. Set up your station using the checklist provided. Review duties and procedures in your training manual. Arrive at the polling place by 6:00 a.m. to ensure the prompt opening of the polls at 6:30 a.m. Bring personal items needed for the day. You may not leave and are required to stay until dismissed by the Chief Judge. Please do not bring electronics such as Ipads, Kindles, etc. Also cell phones, televisions, and radios are prohibited in the voting area. Complete station setup and assist the Chief Judge as instructed. Election Day

4 Training Materials The training manual is yours to take home and read before Election Day. Please read the entire manual, bring it with you, and return it Election night Training power points are available on our website for your reference. Reminders: A voter’s ballot style is determined by the district they live in (and party in a primary). You may have more than one ballot style in your precinct. In a Primary, Unaffiliated voters may choose one party’s primary to vote in. Voters who did vote in the First Primary must vote with the same party in the Second Primary. Voters who did not vote in the First Primary MAY VOTE in the Second Primary. In General Elections, Non-Partisan Offices have Write-ins and some partisan Offices may have certified Write-ins. Inside your folder/notebook are copies of the Sample Ballots, the Photo ID Poster, the Photo ID Handout and Precinct Official Oath. Let us know if you are missing any of these items!

Please NOTE: Complete and return your oath. This is your attendance sheet for training. 7 Office= Judge, Assistant, Student, or Emergency Precinct= The precinct you are working in. If Emergency put All. If you are working for the first time, have moved, or changed your name, you must complete and return a W-9 form in order to be paid. Ask us for one! If you are working outside your precinct or as an Emergency Official you need to vote Absentee by One-Stop or Mail.

Please NOTE: 8 QUESTIONS? Each official is required to wear an apron and name tag. Chief Judges wear RED. Judges and Assistants wear BLUE.
