Starting Out – Run MBMAX64 To Launch - HYSWEEP Menu: “HYSWEEP Editor – 64 Bit” or Use MBMAX Icon in HYPACK Shell (will default with 64-bit OS) All Controls are on single window layout. Items that are greyed out indicate an operation is needed before using that function Progress Bar shows program running. 3
Editor Settings (Edit – Settings) Use Edit Menu, Settings Update Mode – Updating the Survey After Changes. Auto: For Fast Computers / Small Surveys. Manual: For Slower Computers / Large Surveys. Use Update Cells to apply changes to data Survey Data Delete Soundings Between Deleted Position Points: No soundings will be saved when positions are deleted. 4
Editor Settings Custom Edit Folder: Over-ride HYPACK Default. Time Format: Select the Display Format. Useful for correlating points in the HSX file Other: Include Type in LOG File: Useful Way to Identify LOG Files. Example: Load Raw Files From HSX_1029.LOG … Saves HS2 to HS2_1209.LOG. Saves XYZ to XYZ_1209.LOG. Link Golden Soundings to HYPACK Database allows these designated soundings to be used in the databases. 5
Loading Files Use File Menu, Load Survey or the Folder Button. Open Files: *.HSX – HYSWEEP Survey Format. *.HS2 – HYSWEEP Edit Format. *.ALL – Kongsberg Raw Format. *.XYZ –ASCII XYZ Format. *.LOG – HYPACK Catalog containing any of the Above. Depth Filters - Basic Min / Max Depth or Elevation: Clearly a Useful Filter. Beam Angle Limits: Minimum: For Interferometry – Weakest Beams Close to Nadir. Maximum: For Beam Formers – Weakest Beams Far From Nadir. Horizontal Offset Limits: works nicely when swath isn’t changing due to depth. 52
Depth Filters - Sweep Over / Under Filter: Called “Filter Overhang and Undercut Topography” in MBMAX 32. - Very Useful and Safe. Minimum Beam Quality: For Systems That Quality Code Beams. Example: Seabat “3” Code is Best. Remove Beams: List of Beams Know to be Bad. Median: Replaces MBMAX 32 Spike Filter. This is Better. Uses Beams Along and Across Track. Savitsky – Golay: Low Pass Filter Based on Curve Fitting. Gate Size: Allowable Distance From Curve. Order: Flexibility of Curve. 2 = Straight Line.
