Presentation transcript:

 Critically reflect upon the process which your group went through in developing your creative portfolio. You should draw upon relevant theory and in particular focus upon the importance of ensuring that your creative ideas met with the brand and vision of the client (i.e. WildHearts).  This essay should not exceed 1500 words.  Please submit your essay to the Programmes Office (W117) by 12 noon on Friday 16t h December 2011.

 Read the question and ensure that you answer it › Reflect on the process › Link this to relevant theory › Think about how you ensured that your ideas matched with that of the client › Be reflective – think about what you did well but also what you could have done better

 Think about your structure › Every essay should have a beginning, a middle and an end –plan your structure › Ensure that you define concepts, for example you might want to start your essay with a definition of creativity › Remember that this is an academic essay and should be written accordingly – don’t be too informal › Although this is a reflective essay it should be written in the third person. Do not refer to ‘I’, ‘we’, etc

 Use theory throughout › You MUST use theory in this essay › A large number of people failed last year because they did not do this › You should use at very LEAST six different academic references › Make sure that you integrate theory with what you did › Do not just stick quotes in for the sake of it › Use the Harvard referencing style – get this right!

 Think about what you are being marked on › Take on board feedback from your presentations › Look at the marking criteria which we use to mark your essays › Don’t throw away marks with silly mistakes – proof read, present it nicely, etc  Presentation (including standard of written English)5%  Direction & coverage, structure and sequencing10%  Depth & breadth of theoretical understanding, linkage between theory and practice25%  Use of examples and critical reflection25%  Standard of analytical and evaluative discussion20%  Clear & coherent conclusions and recommendations15%  OVERALL MARK100%

 About your portfolio?  About the essay?  About the module more generally?
