HOW DO WE ANALYZE A PUBLIC POLICY ISSUE?

PART I Select one of the topics from your platform. Each person must be working on something different. Do not select drugs. Two people may select the same broad topic (environment) and select a specific aspect. Research what is the current law/government policy (if any)—preferably federal. Who is currently responsible for implementing/enforcing the current policy? How is the program funded?

Review your party’s platform and make the proposal as specific as possible. What changes would you make to the current policy? Why? Think about how you would get your proposals implemented. What demographic/PAC groups would support/oppose your position? Which government officials would support/oppose your position?
