Muscles

Voluntary Muscles Voluntary muscles operate or move when you think about it. The benefit is we can control our bodies to do what we want! Some examples are: arm muscles, leg muscles and back muscles.

Involuntary Muscles Involuntary muscles are those that are working without you thinking about them. This allows us to do things without thinking! Some examples are: Stomach, heart, and lung passageways.

There are 3 muscle groups: 1. Smooth Muscle These muscles are involuntary. Some examples are our organs! Name two examples you learned from the digestive system: ________________________

2. Cardiac Muscle These muscles are involuntary. There is only one muscle that falls under this category: Heart

3. Skeletal Muscle These muscles are voluntary. Some examples of this group are: Arm Muscles Leg Muscles
