Why Communicate To give instructions. To ask for help. To ensure that Young People and Adults know what is happening. To ensure that all people know of opportunities.

What to Communicate A Skill to Young People. Games Instructions to Young People. Information about events/camps. What you want other leaders to do. What help you need.

What Communications to use Face to Face Telephone Written Word Text

Face to Face No confusion. Many people can hear the message. Check all understand. Ensure Quiet background. Check all can hear you.

Telephone Quick and easy to organise. Convenient. Only 1 person can hear. Costs.

Written Word Clear and concise. Ensures all get the same message. Doesn’t rely on messages being passed on. Can give a large amount of information quickly.

Text Good for short messages/reminders. Don’t have to remember to check. Don’t forget those who don't have text facilities. Cost.
