WIRELESS POWER TRANSMISSION

March 9, 2015 ABSTRACT A wireless power transmission from a solar powered satellite is a new idea of wireless power transmission. In this, the solar power from geosynchronous orbit can be extracted and can be sent to earth wireless using microwave. The microwave can be generated from solar power with the use of magnetron. The received microwave on earth from geosynchronous orbit can be converted into DC power using a device called rectenna. Further, this DC power can be synchronized to a DC grid directly or to AC grid by converting it into AC power.

March 9, 2015 INTRODUCTION Wireless power transmission is an idea to assist the existing conventional sources of energy. In this concept, an amount of energy from space is transferred to the earth wireless with the use of microwaves.
