Animation For us, an animation is made up of individual drawings put together to create a moving short film. Why do we use animation? – Explain a concept – e.g. a diagram of how something works – Entertainment – movies, cartoons etc. – Interactivity – games, quizzes etc. Where do we use animation? – Online - websites, games, movies etc. – Mobile phones – menus, animations, games etc – Television – credits, cartoons, animations etc.
An Introduction to Flash CS3 Flash is an industry used animation program. It is a very powerful tool for animation. It is used world-wide. It can create a wide range of animations in terms of: – Games – Interactive Quizzes – Professional websites – Music / Movie players (e.g. BBC iPlayer)

Things to Remember Toolbar: All the drawing and manipulation tools can be found here. Timeline: To be used for animation control as well as layers control. Stage: This is where all the “action” takes place. All animations and every other thing that you want to be displayed in your Flash Movie must be within this Stage.
