To be admitted you must have a high school GPA of 2.25 or higher OR rank in the top 50% of your class OR have an ACT composite score of 21 or higher.

Interesting Fact: Alumni Dennis Weaver, famous for playing David Mann in the Steven Spielberg movie Duel, studied at Missouri Southern State University. At that time MSSU was called Joplin Junior College.

Interesting Facts Missouri Southern State University originally opened as Joplin Junior College in President Obama has been to this college twice, once on May 29, 2011, and again on May 21, 2012.
