Sundays at Clunie Community Center We would like to really show a welcoming presence in the Clunie Community Center and moving forth in our new location. We are looking for rotating greeters for each Sunday morning, starting on Today at Clunie Community Center. Please arrive to church at 9:45 to lend a bit of help, prayer time, then welcoming HIS people at 10:30am. Please contact Liz Golla at church.org if we can count on church.org

We’re Here! Now… What Are We Doing Here? Epiphany 2013 January 6, 2013 Sanctuary Covenant Church

As we have followed Jesus and he has worked within us, these values have become core to who we are at Sanctuary. These are the values by which we will live. Sanctuary at the Core “become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ…” (Ephesians 4:13) 1. High aspirations – We set our sights high. We believe it’s normal for Christians to lead lives of extraordinary love, compassion, justice, and faith. We challenge one another to give up “the good” for “the great” to which God is calling us.

2. Big faith – We are lay-it-all-on-the-line risk takers who would rather fail than play it safe. With big faith in a big God, we explore new horizons as Jesus leads us. Sanctuary at the Core “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us…” (Eph 2:20)

3. Prayer first – We believe that in all things, big or small, prayer is the plow that prepares the soil for fruit God wants to produce. We want to work behind the plow and allow God to go before us. Sanctuary at the Core “… in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God…” (Philippians 4:6b)

4. Authentic community – We walk with one another in authentic, mutually sharpening community. None of us have it all together, but we are all in it together. Sanctuary at the Core “But we don’t need to write to you about the importance of loving each other, for God himself has taught you to love one another.” (1 Thessalonians 4:9)

5. People matter – We put people first because that’s what God does. We never let organizations, money, buildings, or achievements become more important than people. Sanctuary at the Core “No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.” (1 John 4:10-12)

6. Tangible love – We engage the suffering, needy, and oppressed at a face-to-face, giving-and-receiving level. Each of us – every person, every age – should consider compassion and justice a normal part of life. Sanctuary at the Core “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’” (Matthew 25:40)

7. No strings – We serve the local community with no strings attached. We serve not to get something out of people but because we want them to thrive. Sanctuary at the Core Jesus “got up from the meal, took off his outer clothing, and wrapped a towel around his waist. After that, he poured water into a basin and began to wash his disciples’ feet, drying them with the towel that was wrapped around him… When he had finished, he said, ‘I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you.’” (John 13:4-5, 15)

8. Our best for others – We believe the church exists for the sake of those who don’t belong to it. We will use our best creativity, energy, and resources to invite others into life with Jesus. Sanctuary at the Core “The Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.” (Luke 19:10)

9. Collaboration – We are a church for other churches because we believe the local church is the hope of the world. If churches fail, people and communities suffer. We look for ways to champion and collaborate with other local churches. Sanctuary at the Core “Seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” (Matthew 6:33)
