Recent Actions by Sweetwater Union High School District: Exclude Charters from Compact for Success Questions Charter Schools’ qualifications, rigor, and motives Exclude Charters from Middle School League Athletics

Why are Charters Under Attack? Nearly 600 middle school students now attending charters Deficit facing SUHSD Declining enrollment at several middle schools

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THE COMPACT FOR SUCCESS: Enroll continuously in SUHSD from 7th through 12th grade Attain GPA of 3.0 or higher Complete all A-G courses Satisfy Entry Level Math and English Placement Test Take the SAT or ACT

THE COMPACT FOR SUCCESS: Guarantees admission to San Diego State University

Class of “A-G” Courses College Entrance Requirements

(A) 2 Years of History 1 Year World History and 1 Year U.S. History College Requirements

(B) 4 Years English Eng 9-12

(C) 3 Years Mathematics (4 years Recommended) Algebra 1-2 or Ext Alg 1A/B-2A/B Geometry 1-2 Intermediate Algebra 1-2 Math Analysis (Pre Calculus)  AP Statistics, Finite, AP Calculus AB or BC College Requirements

(D) 2 Years Laboratory Science 3 years Recommended Biology 1-2 Chemistry 1-2 Physics 1-2 AP Biology or AP Physics College Requirements

(E) 2 Years Foreign Language (same language) 3 years Recommended (F) 1 Year Fine Arts (Must be a year sequence) Art, Dance, Drama, Music, Vocal College Requirements
