Sins in the Church One of the most depressing things to a preacher is sin committed by church members I wouldn’t come to your church because of the hypocrites Bill Dedmon 3/15/2009

There are 3 classes of People in the church  Faithful unto death  “Good People” (morals not spiritual)  Backsliders Whether we like to admit it or not…there are several sins in the church!

The Fault Finder – Mt. 7:1-3  Easier to see cracks in the wall than build one  Critics often have ulterior motives Worldliness – Luke 18:14  Immodesty  Language  Gambling  Social Drinking  Fornication “And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection.”

The Sin of the Wagging Tongue –James 3:5,6  Good intentions doesn’t justify  May be true but no right to tell it  Sometimes motive is to harm

The Sin of Fear - Rev. 21:8  Fear of failure – Matt. 25:25  Fear growth (Acts 2:41 ;4:4; 6:7)  Fear death (Heb. 2:15; 9:27) “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.” “And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine”.

Sins of Omission  Matt. 25:41-46  James 4:17 All that is required to be lost is do nothing!
