SAT School Day January 2016

SAT School Day One of the Superintendent Martinez’s college readiness initiatives is to offer the SAT School Day assessment for all 11 th grade students to provide them with an opportunity to take this college entrance exam during their school day.

SAT Test Date Tuesday, April 12, 2016 ALL 11 th grade students

No students other than PEIMS coded 11 th grade students will test

SAT Make - UP Day May be offered on Saturday, June 4, 2016 pending district decision

Roles & Responsibilities Principal Ensure that all planning, preparation, and testing for this endeavor occur based on the timeline provided by the district and in accordance with all College Board rules and requirements

Roles & Responsibilities CTC Pre-admin activities such as room setup, planning rooms and staff for test day, and receiving and securing test materials Everything on test day, including distribution of materials, monitoring of all test day activities and staff, packaging and returning test materials, and completing Supervisor Irregularity Reports The CTC will remain the main contact and receive all communications from the College Board Identify and train staff to serve as Associate Supervisors, Proctors and Hall Monitors for test day staff support Ensure that all documentation and materials are returned based on established timelines

SAT – Student Accounts Students MUST create a College Board account that will allow them to access their PSAT, SAT and AP assessment results. This account also allows students free resources to help Students MUST use this account to register for the SAT between February 3 rd and 17th

SAT - Planning Campuses need to plan for the following: Students create or have a College Board Account Review PSAT results Create Kahn Academy Accounts so that students will have access to test prep materials Students MUST create a College Board account by January 29.

SAT - Registration Registration for the exam is accomplished through students College Board accounts. An advanced paper copy of the form will be provided once College Board has released the paper registration form Students should complete the form prior to registering online to expedite registering If students do not register online, they will NOT be able to test! Students MUST register for the test between February 3 rd and 17 th

SAT - Materials The number of tests delivered to each campus will be based on the number of students at that campus that registered online Only a very small amount of additional materials will be included for students new to the district that arrive after the registration window closes

Students with Disabilities Campuses must have at least one Services for Students with Disabilities (SSD) coordinator – cannot be the CTC The CTC will remind 504 and Special Education personnel of requirements and deadlines. The CTC will maintain a roster of all students that have had accommodation requested and approved College Board SSD Coordinator Form is due Jan 8 SSD packets for accommodations are due Feb 24

Students with Disabilities The accommodation request process can take up to 7 weeks and does not begin until ALL documentation is received by College Board If additional documentation is required or if a request is resubmitted, approval can take seven more weeks. Process needs to start EARLY!

Reports No optional, additional student, or score verification reports authorized **Only the four student reports covered with registration are allowed
