Topic Should Women Be Allowed to serve in Combatant Fields in the Military? Why? I would like to join the military after attending college. RESEARCH

In 2010 Women made up approximately 14% of the United States Military In 2012 women make up 20% Military Combat Policy prohibits women from serving in roughly 10% of the occupational specialties. People in superior roles believe women should not be in combat roles. History of Women in the military. RESEARCH

Women are in close proximity to direct fighting in todays wars where there is no front line. Feminists and Writers have blown the issue out of proportion A change in policy is ready to emerge although many differences between men and women in combat have proven otherwise WHY SHOULD WOMEN BE TRAINED FOR COMBAT?

Women are a disruption in combatant fields Women and men share tents and latrines. Most women would feel uncomfortable exposed around men. There will always be some guys that think women do not belong there and will be treated differently. When men are around women it is a natural thing to view those women as a sexual being. It is a man’s nature to want to impress a women. This will lead to comptition among men in a unit and cause unit conflict. Women will be most likely saved over men Women require more hygiene needs then men. They are also more likely to rcatch UTI’s than men UNIT COHESION

Men And women can be viewed as equals Women and men can receive promotions through equal work ethic Women and men can work in the same environment without gender related issues Men and women cannot be viewed as equals Typically promotions require combat experience Women should work in all- female unit eliminating gender related issues SOCIETYMILITARY SOCIETY VS THE MILITARY “Greater Opportunity for military women isn't really what the proponents of combat or women want. Instead they want to use military to create a brave, new, androgynous world in which differences between men and women are ignored and suppressed.” – Brian Mitchell

Problems with mentor Job did not leave enough time for me to spend with mentor Had to turn to advisor for help Learned to work on my own due to this PROBLEMS

I am most proud of: Classes will re-use obstacle course for training purposes I learned: I am very bossy and organized Men were proven to have better scores than women. (1:40 : 2:15) My graduation project will help me in the future: Create a well thought out training course

Women should be allowed the opportunity to train for and be assigned to ground combat fields. This will eliminate women avoiding going into direct combat. Women should be properly trained and pass every test at the same qualifications as men Thank you for your time. CONCLUSION
