UNIVERSAL SERVICE FUND ACT  In 1996 a Telecom Act was passed which created a Fund to provide discounted telecommunication services to healthcare providers located in rural areas. This fund was to help reduce the cost and burden to these facilities in comparison to urban areas.  This fund is supported through a USF fee that is imposed on all telecommunication services. USAC will confer with your vendors to initiate discounts. RHC Consult will follow up with additional paperwork and verify discounts are being applied to your monthly invoice. RHC Consult will be available to your facility to answer questions through the entire process.
