Street Lighting Improvements East 6 th St, Eichenwald, Maple, Hope

Proposal ● Install lantern lighting aprox 130 ft apart on both sides of East 6 th St from Hope eastward to Johnson Parkway. ● Replacement of existing bent straw style lights to lantern on Eichenwald St, Hope St (btwn 7 th and 4 th st), and Maple St (btwn 7 th and 3 rd St)

Existing lighting on 6 th is severely lacking for traffic and residents.

Existing lights to be replaced

Reasons ● Not enough lighting for safety and visibility, functionality and character of East 6 th St. ● Will also match existing lantern lighting on 6 th (From Maria to Hope St.). Will complete historic character of these streets. ● Current bent straw lights are too large and are shining directly into homes. Scaled down lighting more appropriate for historic district will improve character and livability of streets. ● 6th cycle CIB proposal 2004, 2006, 2008, 2010, 2013, 2015
