Louis de Broglie By: Crystal W. and Jasmine P.

Biography Louis de Broglie was born in Dieppe, France on He had 2 brothers and 2 sisters. There names were Albertine de Broglie, Laure Marie Pauline, Phillipe de Broglie, Maurice de Broglie.

Famous Models He is best known for his research on quantum theory. This is the theoretical basis of modern physics that explains the nature, behavior of matter, energy on the atomic and subatomic level.

Louis’s Theory He discovered the Theory of Electrons. It is also called the Quantum Theory. The De Broglie equation predicts that all moving particles have wave characteristics.

Thoughts and Ideas Louis saw that only odd numbers of wave lengths are allowed in a circular orbit of fixed radius. He also reflected on the fact that light at one time thought to be strictly a wave phenomenon has both wave and particle characteristics.

Achievement He was elected a member of the Academy of Sciences of the French Institute in 1933, Louis de Broglie has been its Permanent Secretary for the mathematical sciences since 1942.
