Tooting Your Own Horn!!! without blowing it…. Theodore O. Mason, Jr. Department of English Kenyon College © 2015 Theodore O. Mason, Jr.

Why Miles Davis? Well, the answer is pretty simple…

It is really tough to be cooler than Miles Davis… ‘nuff said…

By way of a brief introduction – few questions to be answered…. Who am I? What are we about? How are we going to do it? Why are we going to do it that way? And you learn how to toot your own horn by being pretty active.

And by the way… Although much of what we do today will be oral, or informal writing, the strategies you begin to deploy today will influence how you present yourself in cover letters, proposals, and other kinds of formal writing.

What 3 things about yourself would you like to improve?

What 2-3 things are you Quite good at? Where do you excel?

Reporting Back… While Riding The Elevator!!!

So…. What might we have learned today concerning talking about ourselves?

And thanks for your attention and cooperation…
