The caduceus symbolized Hermes and health It was given to Hermes from Apollo and was originally a golden rod with two wings on the top One day, Hermes separated two snakes that were in a fight using the caduceus The snakes wrapped around the caduceus and from that moment, they stopped fighting and looked at each other peacefully The caduceus then became something Hermes is well known for
Hermes is called “Mercury” in Rome He was known for many love affairs with mortals, goddesses and nymphs He wears a winged hat and winged sandals He was born in a cave on a mountain in Arcadia
