Time period Surrealism was developed out of the activities of Dada of World War I Surrealism speaks about the time after the First World War and the override of culture.

Key features Surrealist art work is made to look bizarre. It tends to depict the supressed side of our mind and the world of dreams, desire, nightmares and imagination. Typical features include dark figures and silhouettes, mythical creatures, monsters and nonsense animals, day to day objects drawn distorted or disfigured.
