AMERICAN CULTURE FROM SUPER GOAL 3

All states in the United States are divided into small units called counties. (These units are called parishes in Louisiana.) Each county has its own government. Louisiana States in the U.S.A.

Parishes in Lousiana

Outdoor fairs are very popular in the United States in the spring, summer, and early fall.

There are many kinds of outdoor fairs- county fairs, flea markets, crafts fairs, food fairs, and so on. flea marketscrafts fairs

County fairs are very popular. They often feature prize-winning livestock, such as cows and goats; local agricultural products,. such as special fruits and vegetables; farm equipment, such as tractors;

an amusement park area; a stage for bands and singers to perform; and a food section for people to display specialty foods they have cooked or baked.

There may be music, games and a Ferris wheel, and there may even be a fortune-teller.

The title of this unit, Haven’t We Met?, is asked when we see someone who looks familiar but we aren’t sure where or when or even if we’ve ever met the person. If a person wants to meet someone he/she sees (at a party, in a store, in a restaurant) but does not know, he/she may say, Excuse me. Haven’t we met?
