Region 2 Meeting February 22-23, 2003Philadelphia, PA4 What is a Chapter Section … Society … Minimum 12 Members A technical subunit of one or more Sections, or a Council, constituted by a minimum of twelve (12) members of one or more Technical Societies, established by petition to the parent Unit(s) and Societies concerned to represent and fulfill the technical needs of the members and the missions of IEEE.

Region 2 Meeting February 22-23, 2003Philadelphia, PA6 Why should a Society members form a Chapter 1.Chapters are ideal vehicles for informative technical meetings and for networking. 2.Chapters can receive funding from both the parent technical Society and the parent Section.

Region 2 Meeting February 22-23, 2003Philadelphia, PA8 Chapter Reporting 1.Annually report to the parent Section: meeting activity, financial activity and current officers. 2.A Chapter/Affinity Group may be dissolved if there are no reports submitted for 3 consecutive years. 3.A Chapter should hold not less than two technical meetings per year and maintain a membership of not fewer than ten members, other than Students. Joint Chapter meetings (where the Chapter is joint with two or more Sections) will be credited to the administrative (parent) Section.
